Bhagya Laxmi Yojana is a flagship scheme by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to improve the sex ratio and provide financial security to girl children born in BPL (Below Poverty Line) families.

Under this scheme, a bond worth ₹50,000 is issued at birth, which matures to ₹2,00,000 when the girl turns 21 years old. Additionally, the mother receives ₹5,100 at the time of birth as nutritional support. The girl also receives scholarships at Class 6, 8, 10, and 12 to continue her education.
