Mahatma Gandhi NREGS (MGNREGS)

MGNREGS (NREGA) guarantees at least 100 days of unskilled manual work per financial year to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. Wage is paid at state-notified rates (₹204–₹374/day depending on state).

If work is not provided within 15 days of application, the applicant is entitled to unemployment allowance. Payment is made directly to worker's bank/post office account.
