Free LPG connection + first refill to BPL women for clean cooking fuel

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched on 1 May 2016 with the aim of replacing unclean cooking fuels used in rural India with clean LPG. The scheme provides free LPG connections to women from BPL households.

Ujjwala 2.0 was launched in August 2021, extending the scheme to migrants and homeless people with relaxed documentation requirements โ€” only a self-declaration needed for address proof.
