PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector Scheme launched on 1 December 2018 by the Government of India. It provides direct income support of ₹6,000 per year to all eligible farmer families across India in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months.

The scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of farmers in procuring agricultural inputs to ensure proper crop health and yields. As of 2024, more than 11.37 crore farmer families are enrolled, with over ₹2.81 lakh crore disbursed since inception through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

The 17th installment was released in June 2024 benefiting 9.26 crore farmer families. The scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and requires mandatory eKYC for all beneficiaries.
